Windows Phone 8.1 August Update

The first upgrade for Windows Phone 8.1 is already flowing out to developers, as predicted from Microsoft. The update may be downloaded immediately on Windows Phone devices if you have a developer account or are able to establish one.

The development of any operating system

but notably a newcomer, relies on regular upgrades, and Microsoft is now delivering updates for Windows Phone more often.

An updated Xbox Music app with background syncing of songs and swipe to advance is one of the many new features introduced by Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. Other improvements include an improved SMS interface, Live Folders that let users organise apps into folders on the Start screen, a Live Tile for the Windows Phone Store that displays the latest apps or games, and a new Apps Corner that offers a private mode for specific apps and improved privacy and security features.

Windows Phone 8.1’s first release also expands the availability of Microsoft’s voice-based virtual assistant Cortana outside the United States to nations including India, China, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
